The Connecticut Association of Directors of Health hosted a meeting of the local Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinators on March 9, 2007. This meeting provided an opportunity for panel presentations and round table discussions on a number of local public health preparedness topics. Particular focus was on Pandemic Flu planning and the implications of CDC’s Interim Pre-pandemic planning Guidance: Community Strategy for Pandemic Influenza Mitigation in the United States.

The meeting provided an opportunity to:

• Network with other Emergency Preparedness Coordinators;

• Share resources and materials available for local health planning;

• Present model practices;

• Identify common challenges and recommended strategies to address them.
